Lamborghini Gallardo


The Lamborghini Gallardo is the so called ‘entry level’ vehicle for the Italian car maker Lamborghini. The car gets its name from a breed of fighting bull, and it is also a Spanish word for gallant. The car is capable of having a V10 engine installed, so far the most popular version is the black Lamborghini Gallardo. There are four variants of the Gallardo, and each one has a different set of features and over all look. In all cases the Lamborghini Gallardo is capable of coming with either a manual or automatic transmission with an exception being the Gallardo Spyder.

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

Considered by the company to be a new model it premiered in 2006, and has a low ratio six speed manual transmission. The Lamborghini Gallardo also comes with a fully retractable soft top.

Lamborghini Gallardo SE

The Gallardo Special Edition was introduced in 2005 – it has a black roof and the SE addresses many of the original issues of the Gallardo such as steering and transmission lag times along with many other minor issues found in the first Gallardo lines. It also has a camera system mounted on the back for easier parking along with a launch mode – where it automatically drops the clutch engaging all the wheels in a controlled burnout.

Lamborghini Gallardo Nera

The Nera Lamborghini is a limited make car, only 185 have been or will ever be made.

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

The Lamborghini Superleggera is a special version of the Gallardo that will be out this year. It is lighter, faster, and uses a whole host of new design revamps in the engine and will boost an additional 10 horsepower from it. It has a total top horsepower of 523.

The general Lamborghini Gallardo has a top speed of 192 miles per hour, and can accelerate to 62 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds, and double that within 14.5 seconds. It uses a V10 engine and has as standard 500-510 horsepower.
