Anderson Germany is the latest tuner to try its hand on the Maserati GranTurismo. They’ve turned it into an all-black beauty, and call it the superior black.

The tuner starts with the body, and adds a healthy does of aerodynamic parts including a new bonnet, side mirrors, tailgate and roof ledges, front and rear apron and side skirts. Then they wrap them all up in a matte black foil. For good measure, they also black-out the grilles and the lights.

But that’s not enough darkness! So they’ve also painted the 21-inch rims in glossy black as well. Then they dropped the car by lowering the suspension, which resulted in a hawking presence for the Masser.

Anderson has also fiddles with the 4.7 liter V8 engine and by adding new stainless-steel exhaust system and some electronics trickery, managed to extract 492 PS, 52 more than the standard car.

As for the interior, you get a nice combination of black leather and Alcantara with red stitching everywhere you look, and lots of carbon fiber accents, plus a top-notch entertainment system with PS3!

It is clear that DMC wanted to create a cool car here. You can say because of the name, Sovrano!

So they picked up a Maserati GranTurismo and instead of going nuts with carbon fiber like Mansory usually does, they’ve used a subtle but very nice body kit.

It comes with side skirts, rather wide ones, new front spoiler for a bigger mouth, a vented bonnet, a carbon rear diffuser and a carbon rear spoiler. They’re all very well composed and put together. The special color combination on this one is also very cool.

Thanks to DMC new motor-engineering partner in Switzerland, the engine work is not simply done by ECU improvement, but by physically enlarging the engine. Under the hood, the 4.7-litre V8 is now more potent thanks to a supercharger that is driven by a cogged-tooth belt. Thanks to this upgrade the DMC Maserati is able to produce an additional 150 HP (110 kW) and 82 Nm, which means it can unleash a total of 590 HP (434 kW) @ 7300 rpm and 472 Nm of torque @ 5400 rpm.

On the interior, DMC only uses the finest materials which have been processed in traditional top-quality craftsmanship. It adds individual character and improves the strong connection between the driver and his car. The leather used by DMC for the interior is hard-wearing yet exceptionally soft. The chequered stitch in the ornamental seams on the inside makes for elegance as well as sportiness. Wherever you look.

The Godfather of all luxury sedans, Maserati Quattroporte, has been lightly tweaked by MR Car Design tuning center.

It’s a light package because the Quattroporte doesn’t need any sort of upgrade whatsoever. but Mr decided to give it a nice set of 22-inch Vossen wheels wrapped in 245/30R22 tires at front and 295/25R22 at the back and some new H&R springs that lower the car by a few inches.

Engine-wise, the car gets a power bump from 400 to 430 hp and 480 Nm of torque. It also comes with a sport exhaust system that is truth be told an overkill.

There’s no word on interior upgrades.

Maserati began with a small number of brothers. I say this in a sarcastic demeanor. There were six brothers, each one involved in some capacity. They began production of their own cars after the Diattor company they worked for stopped production, they joined together to create the Maserati company itself and began to build the cars. The brothers were Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, Ernesto, and Mario. Alfieri passed away after many complications arose from a car accident, and from that point on it passed on to his other three brothers who kept the company going – Bindo Ettore and Ernesto.

In 37 the remaining brothers, having had their fill of cars, sold the company to Adolfo Orsi, and they relocated the company to Modena. The brothers, however, continued to work with the company as engineers, as that is what they wanted to do in the first place – which lead Maserati to a 1940 victory in the Indianapolis 500, followed by another victory there a year later. When WWII hit they were manufacturing parts for the Italian War Machine rather than cars, but soon after the war they went back to building what they always built: cars.

Throughout the fifties they remained a successful car that almost nobody could beat – but an accident lead Maserati to stop racing cars themselves, and leave that to others. In the late 50s they began to focus on more road car oriented vehicles rather than racing vehicles, and produced some of the most stunning road cars seen, from the Spider to the Ghibli. Later in 1968 Citroen bought Orsi out, although he remained in the company.

However Maserati changed, more models were launched, more cars were made, production ramped up tenfold and more people bought their cars. It was quite a success… until the dreaded 1973 oil crisis. Citroen went bankrupt, and they liquidated Maserati – however the Italian government stepped in and helped Maserati. Allesandro de Tomaso bought the struggling company and brought it back from the brink of death, and led it into a successful era. Then in 1993 hands changed again, to Fiat. Then in 97 Fiat sold half of Maserati to Ferrari (which is owned by Fiat too). Then Ferrari took full control over Maserati and made it a luxury brand. However, in 2005 a deal termination with GM by Fiat caused a cascade in which Fiat separated Maserati from Ferrari, and brought it under Fiat’s control once again.
