Trabant Tuning
The Trabant is a small wonderful car produced by former East German auto maker VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau in Zwickau, Sachsen. Once upon a time in East Germany, it was the most common car on the road. Despite being compact and light, the Trabant had a good seating space for 4 adults along with some excellent room for luggage. Despite its ordinary performance and smoky two-stroke engine, the car has come to be regarded with derisive affection as a symbol of the failed aspects of former East Germany and of the fall of communism.
The love for Trabant in the hearts of many enthusiasts is quite evident till today when we see so many tuned up versions in succession. Germany still remains as the best place to witness such cars. It is more of an inspiration to think that we might have a successor of this retro just like Beatle or Mini.

The best thing you could do to your Trabant is to transform it into a speed monster. A good 900 cc engine replacement is a wonderful modification. An ordinary engine won’t be able to cope up with the already existing configuration hence a customized version of cylinders, crank and pistons is needed. Backed by the new racing spark plugs from NGK and a buffed carburettor from FZ, the little Trabant produces a 65 bhp of power which can pump it to a top speed of 190 Km/h.
Some more modifications include modification of the chassis completely and chopping of front pillars. Reducing them by about 60-70 mm would give a great shape to the car. Windows and fenders can be used from any other short models available these days. The headlights need to give a trendy look. VW Golf makes awesome designs of headlights that suit the smaller cars a lot.
The mirrors need to come from a sports motorbike like Ducati or Honda for better looks. Since it is an old-fashioned car, hence it needs some protection gear as well. A roll cage, Jamex leather sporting seats and a 30 cm wide Raid steering wheel add up to the protection kit.

Koni shock absorbers are excellent in handling big deflections. Though the car looks awkward sometimes, but handling becomes very good and so does your protection level. Supportive alloy rims, heavy suspensions and a whole new set of round disc brakes can make a lot of difference in your Trabant.
Some subtle touches in the looks would also help a lot. Crystal black colour with some beautiful air brushes can change your car from a regular speed racer to a contemporary queen. The Trabant surely needs more oxygen intake for better combustion. Since the engine is a two-stroke built, hence a new exhaust kit needs to be installed so that the natural performance grows from within. The kit allows better performance and mileage as well.
Trabant has always been one of the most favoured cars on the roads of Germany. Who knows it might just scoop away the streets of Asia as well?

Nissan 350Z Tuning
Which car according to you should be the top-most contender for the best Sports coupe of the decade? Millions of wild ideas will be haunting your mind from the word ‘go’. It is not easy to judge, yet there is a clear cut winner by a comfortable margin. Not only it is a stunning piece of machinery but is also cutting edge Sports coupe. Most of you might have judged the right answer by now and it is Nissan 350Z.
A state of art body with amazingly wild engine; this Sports buzz is one of the hottest vehicles on the road. It is known for its impeccable handling and soft steering.
A tuned up 350Z is a feast for every eye. Known for its awesome drag abilities, any tune up will lift its overall perfect rating in true sense.

If you want some mechanical tune up, then probably a fast road cam would be the best option. You have to get a new fuel pressure boost valve so that the engine is not choked and devoid of fuel.
The next big change comes in the form of Breathing Mods. If you have a full induction kit, then you’ll experience maximum power gains. A Sports catalyst would be an added asset since it will not allow your engine to lose on pressure. A strong Power Clutch will direct the power where it is most needed. A good large Turbo will give your Nissan some immense power gains and beasty speed on the road.
A good vehicle is nothing without some extraordinary, jaw-dropping looks. It is always good to have power alloys not for the killer looks but nonetheless they give better balance and control of unsprung weight. Alloy wheels allow efficient brake cooling due to their technical design. In the end the overall rotational diameter should remain the same at all costs.
A final engine tuning not only helps in increasing the volumetric efficiency, removing negative pressure using the induction kit but also gives a much greater torque by converting it to necessary power through higher speed.
As a Nissan 350Z enthusiast, you should try 400 hp and 353 ft-lb of torque on VP Racing 100-octane gasoline. Specially prepared for HKS USA, the compressor housing was ported and a prototype 9.5-psi pulley was fitted to the supercharger to replace the standard 7-psi unit. Control the injectors with an HKS F-CON V Pro D Jetro standalone engine management system, which can be further be taken care of by opening valve outflow at all times.. The standard intercooler included in the kit should also be dumped and replaced with a larger prototype S-Type front mount. The included bypass valve should be replaced with an SSQV blow-off valve, made by HKS–obviously.
We’ve seen some of the most amazing Nissan tune-ups till now. A word of caution would be to handle your Nissan car with a lot of care. Since Nissan looks very beautiful, it’s tune-up might just spoil up the internal technicalities. Hence always give your baby in professional hands only.

Honda Prelude Tuning
Prelude is simply the most legendary coupe from Honda. Though it would be an exaggerating statement but it is true. A great history that kicked off in 1978, Prelude went on to get better and better on road. With 5 great versions of this model, its production was finally halted in 2001. It created vibes in 1988 when the 2.0l was launched for the first time. A massive 142 bhp was something to praise for at that time.
Though the bonnet was long and sleek but it tapered at the end so that the driver had a good road view. Subsequent models of the ’90s had their own pros and cons.
One of the most inspiring tuning of the 92-96 Honda Prelude was seen recently. A metallic Navy blue was modified with flawless fittings.
A lowered adjustable suspension setup using Koni Sport dampers matched to Eibach Pro progressive Spring Kit was the biggest attraction. New alloys of 17″ OZ Superleggera fitted with Toyo T1-R tyres have boosted its road grip.

With such a great model, you need to take care of the exhaust system. It should match the dark cat body and it would be better if it is made of pure stainless steel. A 60-70 mm decat pipe would help the cause.
Thinking of the intake it is advisable to use Prelude Type-S airbox and a K&N air filter. It obviously needs Shell V Power 99 Octane fuel with NGK iridium plugs.
Finally the H22A2 boost would be the best configuration that you would add up your Prelude.
A new motor with raised rev limiter upto 8500 rpm and an altered time map for compatibility purpose are added assets.
If you are still obsessed with more amazing looks, then you can go for a set of 16-inch Mugen MF 8s from Auto Salon.
With such a heavy configuration, you need to keep the water temperature gauges working really well.
1996 Honda Prelude Si is one of the rarest models you woud see around these days but rural Tennessee is one such place where you’ll find America’s hottest Prelude.
Built on a firm JDM parts’ base, the clean finish and final touches are amazing. A turbo-charged ITR boosts up the performance to a whole new level.
A H23 block with a H22 parts and an intake manifold pulled off for better brake lines are some of the astounding and unique features of this tuned up beast.
Prelude’s suspension could become a concern with heavy tuned up configuration. Hence for a piece of advice, always go for an original Honda suspension or you could lose the charm of every single configuration done till now.
In a nutshell, Prelude is rare as a Panda; yet when it unfolds its elegance after years; it is worth a Nostalgia for many more years to come.

Honda S2000 Tuning
Honda S2000 is one of the most recent launches from Honda and there is some happy History attached to it. In April 1999, Honda celebrated its 50th century and the engineers from Honda wanted to come up with something really special, and hence the S2000 came into life.
A powerful 2 seater with engine options of 2.0l and 2.2l, this nasty beast can produce an amazing 9000 rpm with the backup of 240 bhp engine power. It is already a celebrated master piece and hence tuning up a perfectionist is a complicated task.
The handling, balance, suspension, instant torque and liquid brakes are simply superb. Any little experiment can go in the wrong direction and the whole tuning project can fail miserably.

Honda S2000 lacks in low end power and this could serve the purpose for our motivation to start up the tuning process. We have to introduce a good Sports exhaust accompanied by an induction kit to modify the VTEC momentum.
Since the head is way beyond perfect, the only little change that one can do is to upgrade the valve springs and retainers that wither down with an astonishing rate. Ferrera’s springs can work wonderfully well for S2000 since they are very much compatible.
To get a better flow, you can try a 3 angled valve head. Though 4 to 5 angles are superior but due to space constraints we stick to 3 head valve. Ignore cams help to keep the low down power in control. If you are still hungry for more Power in your S2000, then a forced induction will surely help.
An already designed 11:1 compression ratio provides a really weak boost and an addition of Supercharger would not help much. Hence a manual modification of the engine to bring this ratio to 9.5:1 would actually solve the purpose and you’ll find the power upto 350 bhp.
If you’re looking for a better acceleration, then a lower ratio gearbox will boost up the acceleration. You can also increase the size of 300 MM ventilated brake discs and get a final upgrade to an 18 inch wheel set. This would really give a wicked beast look to your vehicle.
This will grab the attention of every single chic on the road.
Finally, to add some punch to the Cosmetic looks, we suggest that you paint your little beast in red and get a black removable hardtop matched with powder coated black rims.
A front end full bra for 2004 S2K simply fits in the groove of S2000 as well. It seems it was made for this car only.
S2000 is simply one of the most amazing works of HONDA and we suggest that in the long run, you should take care while tuning up your love.

Honda CRX Tuning
Honda CR-X, also known as Honda Ballade is another premium vehicle from Honda’s launch pad. The CR-X has some controversial history due to its acronym which means Honda Civic Renaissance Model X. From American markets to European markets, it gradually transformed from a 2 seater to 2+2 seater. European launches made this Honda vehicle more powerful in Engine and bhp.
CR-X lovers across the globe express their love for their machine by tuning it in thousand different ways. They have re defined the concept of tuning their cars. What if the engine is left untouched or the appearance still looks jaded? Every single tuned CR-X on the road has an aura of elegance around it.

Starting from the most economical tune ups, one can go for a rio-red bodywork. Rather than heavy and expensive Nitrous systems, it’s advisable to go with cold air intake and sports air filter. A free flow exhaust is sure to boost its performance. Its better if we could manage some loss of extra weight in the car. For example, we can remove the power sunroof and let the top cover stay. Screwing it to the hood and covering it up with a big sticker surely takes out big 20 Kgs.
Moving on to the much luxurious side, a B16A swap or 1.6 sohc VTEC swap is more than enough for a heavy bhp output. A 130 HP is quite manly to prove some mettle on the road. A nitrous X-pack would prove a bit costly but nonetheless a starter version should kick off the much needed performance.
Power windows and power mirrors add style to your beautiful CR-X.
Going a little back in time; let us look at some marvellous works done with CR-X. The 1991 CR-X JDM is a modern man’s obsession in perfect sense. Leon’s Mugen themed ‘91 JDM CRX is renowned for speed and energy. Spoon Sports’ bolts, a JDM front end and black Zenon side skirts can turn this big boy into a real beast on the road. Simply cut the JDM fenders, add some cool flares to the trimmed arches and replace the bulky mirrors with carbon-fibre vision type DC mirrors for the final finishing touches and you’ll feel the difference. Spoon callipers are added assets for your machine.
You can make the final looks even more aggressive by introducing lightweight flat back wheels in the form of 16 inch Spoon SW338s shod in Falken Azenis rubber. Adding a few more upgrades to make it a complete seduction pack is the main motive of every owner. Adjustable Camber kit, complete Energy Suspension bushing kit and spoon callipers mated to 11.1 ” rotors are some major performance boosters.
Going for the final touches, getting Golden Eagle themes on the black carbon fibre body will flaunt the real manly characteristics on the road.
CR-X is back with a bang on the roads of Japan and other parts of South-East Asia. Let us see how the most beloved model will fare in the gruelling times of today.
