When it comes to auto sound a system, one question seems to be repeated often-is bigger better?

The honest answer for that is not by a long shot. There are the excellent quality sound systems that will not require the backseat and your first-born to enjoy wonderful quality of sound and music as you drive along on you’re daily commute. One thing that is important to remember is that dynamite does in fact come in small packages. The same can be true of a good quality sound system for your car, truck, or SUV.

You can elect to have the full range sound package. This package, if not custom installed by the dealer can take up many of real estate within your car, truck, or SUV. If you own a compact car, these types of speakers and this particular type of sound system is definitely not recommended. The first reason it is unattractive is that it will most likely require either most of your trunk or take out your back seat. I for one like being able to cart around friends, relatives, and/or children-my back seat isn’t up for grabs. I also prefer the continuity of a factory-installed system that takes up none of the premium living space within the interior of my SUV.

I am biased towards the wonderful sound quality of the Bose sound system and speakers. The quality of sound with this particular system is excellent and any true music lover will tell you that good quality of sound is better by far than a louder sound. This is not to say that the Bose sound system will be the perfect choice for everyone to use as his or her auto sound system only that it is my first choice as a music lover.

I prefer a softer sound that has good quality to a louder sound of the substandard or even average quality on any day. The problem with most ‘big’ sound systems and speakers is that they often sound hollow or tinny rather than full and robust. A good auto sound system will provide the best possible sound within the confines of the least possible space. You will probably find that you don’t need to sacrifice your backseat in order to hold the speakers and while the Bose sound system for automobiles does cost more than some sound systems, it won’t require a second mortgage on your home in order to afford. There are actually times in life when you get what you pay for.

The important thing to remember is that you do not have to have the most expensive, the best known, or even the biggest sound system in order to have a wonderful quality sound system in your automobile. You will not even have to have a Bose sound system in order to have a sound system that is not only excellent quality but also excellent sound. You do not need to pay an arm and a leg or any other appendages in order to have a good sound on your daily commute to work.

Music is all around us, at work, at home, on television shows. Music sets moods, sets tones, and kills moods on occasion. It only makes sense that you have good quality equipment upon which to play the music that so greatly enhances and enriches your life. If you are in the market for an auto sound system it only makes sense to listen to several before deciding on the one that will work best with your musical tastes and your desire for your vehicle sound system. Don’t be misled by commission minded sales associated that think you need the latest, greatest, and most expensive toy on the market. Find a system that sounds good to you and go with that system. You do not have to go for a better sound if you find a sound you like that should be enough.

People need car parts everyday for several reasons. It could be because of the fact that they need to rebuild a whole car, or only need a single part that has recently broken or no longer works. In addition, some low level racing teams in various forms of motor racing may need cheap car parts to survive. Because of the worldwide economy is at its slowest point in many years, there are more people then ever looking for the ability to be able to acquire cheap car parts. Where exactly do people find these parts? It depends on how you want to look for them…

Car parts cost money regardless of where you get them. Some car parted shoppers will go to the internet to be able to find car parts at the best price. There sites dedicated to the purpose of finding and locating cheap car parts, which others sections of larger websites.

This could be a quick and useful way to find what you are looking for. Also, working the phones and calling around is another way in which people can find access to cheaper car parts. Some people don’t really like to shop for things on the internet, and sometimes people need access to a certain part immediately, and don’t have the time to be able to wait at the part to be shipped.

Calling different dealerships, car part shops, junk yards, and even individuals can lead to a wide range of prices for the same parts. Armed with this information, a car part shopper can choose the place where the part will be the cheapest. This is the good thing about competition and choice, it allows people to get a lower price for what they want and it makes sellers be more competitive and creative in their prices to earn more business and be able to survive.

Another tactic in which people can get a lower price on car parts is to get rebuilding and after market parts, which often times can be as good as new or regular car parts.

As the cost of new technology goes down, new cars are increasingly highlighting new technology as a major buying feature. This may be nothing new for the premium car segment, but this means that more of this new technology is becoming standard in mid-range and more affordable cars. Let’s take a look at some of the in demand in-car tech innovations.

Around View Monitor

Rear view monitors have become so standard and no longer have much panache among consumers. The latest camera systems are around view monitors, helping drivers see not just behind the car but around the car. This system was first introduced on the Infiniti EX, a crossover from Nissan’s luxury brand. The around view monitor helps drivers navigate tight spaces and avoid minor fender benders. St Louis Acura says the system also makes parallel parking extremely easy.

Ford MyKey

The Ford MyKey is basically a key specifically for teen drivers. The system allows drivers to control several functions inside the car, such as top speed, stereo volume, and it controls various warning chimes. Parents can program the Ford MyKey system to their specifications, which Pittsburgh Lincoln Financing says will help to add peace of mind when children are out on the road. MyKey will be standard on the 2010 Ford Focus and Ford Escape hybrid. By 2012, MyKey will become standard on all vehicles.

Automatic Braking Systems

Using sonar and radar, automatic braking technology is able to monitor the closing speed of your car and the car ahead. If it detects that an impact may be eminent, the system will apply the vehicle’s brakes automatically without any input from the driver according to one used car dealer Trenton. The system was first featured on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but can also be had on the 2010 E-Class. Other vehicles that have adopted similar technology include Lexus and Volvo. While it’s not a replacement for safe driving, the system can prevent changes that occur from distractions.

Lane Departure Warning Systems

Lane departure warning systems alert a driver whenever a vehicle begins to veer outside a lane. When the vehicle steps over a double yellow line, one used Mercedes Baltimore dealer points out that the system helps the drivers avoid a serious accident with an on-coming car, or even a motorcycle. While the system was first developed by Infiniti, it has since found its way into numerous brands including Cadillac, Lexus, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz. Some customers at Acura Service New Haven have thought the system is a bit too sensitive and annoying when it beeps unnecessarily. However, these systems can be shut off manually.

Driver Alertness Monitored

Also developed by Mercedes-Benz is the driver alertness monitor. The system monitors if a driver is falling asleep at the wheel. If the system senses a dozing driver, Mercedes Benz Washington DC says it will attempt to wake the driver up. Typically found on Mercedes S- and E-Class models, the system can also be found on Volvo models as well, including the S80 sedan. While the system could potentially startle a drowsy driver admits Indianapolis Mercedes and potentially could cause an accident, the system should be useful for those driving on long trips or who regularly drive late at night. That being said, anyone getting drowsy at the wheel should immediately pull off the road and call it a night.

Nowadays it’s normal to see a car that has a roof rack on top. Gone are the days when you can only put all your travel belongings on the trunk of the car. Looking at this kind of set up, the inspiration may have originated in the times of the rajahs when elephants had similar travel racks on top of them. Normally some items like surfboards or huge luggage don’t fit in the boot of the car.

Roof racks are ideal for campers and sports enthusiasts because the design is made to fit bikes, kayaks, surf boards, skis, and other sporting gear. The design is such that it sits squat on the roof of the car and comes with high tensile straps that securely fasten your luggage to the rack. By centering the position of the rack squarely, the center of gravity of the car is maintained keeping it grounded and stable even in long distances.

It is definitely a great way to look stylish and at the same time organized so that even big, bulky items fit.

A heater core works in cooperation with the engine’s cooling system. Now, the cooling system is in charge of removing the heat from the engine. It sends this anti-freeze to the radiator when it will be cooled again be the rushing outside air. When it is cooled, it is sent to the engine. The heater core can be thought of as a mini radiator located inside the dashboard. So the anti-freeze circulates throughout the engine, radiator and heater core.

If you turn on the heater, a door opens in the heater core area. The blower, or also known as the a/c fan, will blow air from the heater core into the dashboard until it reaches the passenger compartment. If you find a leak on your passenger floorboard under the carpet, it means that your heater core leaked anti-freeze. Other signs of leakage are sweet odor in the car and a greasy film on the inside of the windows.

You are probably wondering what causes this. Well, the most common cause is rusting. When you don’t flush your cooling system regularly, rust can build up. Anti-freeze in the cooling system can cause rust to build up. So it is highly recommended that you flush and replace it periodically to make sure your system is working. It can also help you avoid those expensive repairs. If you have rusty anti-freeze, it could mean that you have a coolant leak in your cooling system so air is entering the system. It can be caused by leaky radiator, heater core, water pump or radiator hose. The rust can damage the radiator and other internal engine parts too.

To stop the anti-freeze from leaking on the floorboard, you can just replace the defective heater core, as recommended by most mechanics. In case you want something temporary, you can use a can of radiator stop leak additive and see if it can fix the hole. In more extreme measures, you can just cut off the flow of anti-freeze to the heater core. There are two heater hoses connected to the heater core. You can cut or block these with a hose clamp, or you can insert a small hose splice between them to create a loop so they avoid the heater core. Blocking it is useful in summer time as a temporary repair. But if you have the budget for repairs, it is advised to go to a mechanic.

Before you can determine the problem, you must first know how your car heater works. Remember that the part that transfers heat into the passenger compartment is the heater core. This can be thought of as a mini radiator. The coolant flows through the heater core while the fan, also known as the blower, blows air through the heater core’s fins. When the air blows through these fins, it is heated and that heated air warms the passenger apartment.

Now we can check why your car heater is blowing cold air. You can start by checking the coolant. This coolant is the substance that warms the heater core. Therefore, if the coolant is low, it is possible that that may not be enough to warm the air that blows to the passenger compartment. If you’re wondering, why can’t your temperature gauge just warn you about the low coolant, it is simply because the temperature outside is cold so low coolant may not affect the operating temperature of your engine. Once the coolant is full, put the engine at normal operating temperature. Feel the heater hoses that go through the firewall; they both should be hot to the touch.

If only one is hot, this means that there is a blockage in the heater core or there is air trapped in the heater core. Use a coolant funnel to purge the air from the cooling system. If the coolant is really brown, it has been neglected. If “stop leak” has been used at some point, the heater core could be blocked up. This blockage can be removed by flushing the heater core through the heater hoses using a garden hose with a sprayer.

If neither of them is hot to the touch, there could be a malfunctioning heat control valve. Check for the heat control valve by following the heater hoses back to the engine. There might be a broken vacuum line so the valve cannot operate. And maybe you by-passed the heater core because of a leak, so you looped the heater hoses.

If you are sure that the coolant is in good shape, but cool air is still blowing out your car heater, you can check for proper airflow. Adjust the heat control to the highest and lowest; listen for the movement of the doors within the heater case. These doors can be controlled by vacuum motors, cables or electric actuators. If it is controlled by electric motors, tapping it can sometimes make it work. If it is controlled by cables, find the door that controls the airflow across the heater core. If it is controlled by vacuum motors, the diaphragm needs replacing.

Are you going to perform some maintenance on your car heater? Are you trying to repair your car heater?

First of all you need to check if your car heater is still working…

Winter is a busy time for car owners. There are a lot of things to change and check before you can ride out again. You’d probably put it in your to-do list, but you always tend to end up doing other s chores first. You haven’t checked your car heater for a long time, so you should really get yourself to do it. Here are some basic instructions for doing that.

One sign you might notice if your car heater is no longer working is the frost or ice building inside your car after you start it and about time your heater kicked in. don’t worry here are some few things you can check and correct without the help of mechanics. It is especially important every time winter comes knocking about.

First, you need to transfer your car to a heated garage. Take the car for a drive until the engine and the heater warm up. To check its heat output, it is advised to set the heat on high and set the blower at medium or higher. You can monitor the heat output by inserting thermometers in the driver and passenger side vents.. Somewhere between 115 degrees and 120 degrees is usually an acceptable temperature, but it is also possible to have a higher reading. If your results are as mentioned you have successfully checked your car heater, but if not, please keep reading.

You owner’s manual and the manufacturer’s website are great resources to help you quickly and precisely determine the problem and optimize heat. If the answer is not there, you have to pop the hood.

Just staring at your heater will probably be in vain, so we start at the coolant vents. Make sure that the coolant level in the reservoir matches the manufacturer’s specifications. Even though this is not the problem, proper coolant level will help your heater run warmer. Also make sure that your coolant is clean. You should replace it regularly so it will always be in good shape. Always check your coolant temperature whenever you can.

If the temperature is still too cool, check the temperature do or motor to make sure it is working. It is usually located under the dashboard when you remove the panel. If it does not seem to work, it is better to replace this.

If all these fails, call a mechanic to make sure.

Having a portable car heater is very useful, especially if your vehicle takes some time to warm up. If you still don’t have one and you plan to buy one any time now, there are some things you should know. Some of these include power cord, adjustability, and safety. You can always use some help in deciding which the best one for you is. So, here are some tips for buying your own portable car heater.

The first and most important thing is safety. It is the one thing you always have to consider when buying anything.. The design you are looking for is one with a cabinet that remains cold even while the heater is in use. It is also advisable to look for a portable car heater that has an automatic safety limit switch.

Next thing to consider in buying a portable car heater is the power cord. You should check the length of the power cord to make sure that it is long enough to reach into the back seat of your car. Thus, you should probably want a portable car heater that is at least six feet long.

You should also consider the adjustability of the portable car heater you are about to buy. There are models that can be adjusted 45 degrees up and down. There are also models that can be adjusted 90 degrees to the left or right. This is more practical since they won’t have to be focused on one area only and all the passengers can feel the warmth.

If you would like to solve your defrosting problems, look for a portable car heater that can do that. Many car owners buy car heaters to help them defrost their windows in the morning. To be able to do this, look for a portable car heater that attaches easily to your back window.

The last thing you must consider when buying your portable car heater is temperature. Look for a design that has automatic temperature control. This will allow the heat to spread evenly throughout the car. You should also consider buying a portable car heater that can blow out warm and cool air. If you have this kind, you can use it during winter and summer. It may cost a little bit more than the others, but you get to use it a lot more often.

Car heaters are really important, especially during those cold winters. If you have encountered some problems with your car’s temperature, it is advised that you check your car heater and radiator. Your car heater works almost like your car radiator. The coolant originating from your engine goes through the heater core, and then the air will be blown through the core and into the car’s passenger compartment.

You may encounter some problems if the heater core becomes plugged. If this is the case, it will require replacement or flushing every now and then. When your engine gets hot, there are two hoses from this to your heater core. These hoses could have leaks at high pressure. You can be able to buy flush kits from some auto shops, but if you’re not up for the cost, you can just use a garden hose to flush your car heater and the car radiator.

The most common in car heater and car radiator problems is low engine coolant level. Because of this, you should always check them before you leave for a long trip. If you have an older car, you may have faulty engine thermostat. If you do, it is better if you could have it changed at a car repair shop.

Make it a habit to check the temperature gauge whenever you enter your car. Make sure it is in the normal range to avoid other problems. You can also check the temperature yourself. Just use the metal case thermometer placed into the filler of the radiator, but only when the engine is cold.

If you still encounter problems with the heater despite the temperature and fluid level, it may come from poor circulation through the heater core. You can test that by keeping the engine running at normal temperature and feeling the heater hoses. The two hoses should have the same temperature. If you felt that their temperature are not the same, you should try replacing them or flushing them.

If you are working on your car heater yourself, always use caution. It could be very hot, so never ever try to work around it while the engine is hot.. It is also practical to use gloves in order to protect your hands from being burned. But you are not that used in fooling around the car, it is better if you let a mechanic do the work.
