Mitsubishi was first founded as a shipping corporation by a man named Yataro Iwasaki in 1870, and from there it went into coal mining. After this it used its own coal to power ships, of which they had many, followed by more shipping and building their conglomerate empire. During the Second World War they manufactured engines for the Japanese Zero and continued to help the Japanese war effort – but found themselves SOL after Japan lost. Their automotive roots began in 1917 when they introduced the Model A – Japan’s first automobile series production.

They continued production of automobiles and then finished in 1921, followed by a prototype in 1937 with the first all wheel drive sedan for the military, however it never saw much production. It was not until the 1970s that Mitsubishi re-entered the automotive market and began to produce cars again. It was following the end of WWII that they began to produce vehicles, mainly small three wheeled cargo vehicles and scooters, along with some other smaller things. Then in 1950 the U.S. and Allied powers ordered them to cease and desist.

In 1953 one of the three splits made by the allies to the company called Shin Mitsubishi HI, was gearing up for automobiles by 1953, and later introduced the Mitsubishi 500, and later the Kei car and Colt 1000. One of the other splits had developed auto departments and were developing their own, until all three split parts came back together in 1964. This let them produce 75,000 vehicles each year after, and continually increase that as time wore on.

They introduced the Galant in 69 to much praise and success, and finally in 1970 the current Mitsubishi Motors was formed as a subsidiary. One of its major moves was the partnership with Chrysler, and thus re branded gallants hit the US markets and bumped sales and production from 75,000 to 250,000. This allowed the network of Colt branded dealerships to expand in Europe and elsewhere. In the 80s they hit one million cars for just that year, but its alliance with Chrysler was soon coming to and end as Chrysler was failing and close to Bankruptcy. So, they introduced themselves to the U.S. Market as Mitsubishi Motors, and thus by the 80s was booming in the US economy, having started with 20 dealerships and expanding to 340. Because of its tactics they were now selling 1.5 million vehicles a year. In 1991 Mitsubishi bought back its stake from Chrysler and thus it became wholly independent.

Mitsubishi has been one of the favored cars for tuning enthusiasts throughout the years. Pretty much all of Mitsubishi’s line up is budget friendly, includes great powerful and performance choices and nice styling cues. One of the year’s best is the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 Turbo. While this vehicle’s look has changed, it still includes great power and technology to give any car enthusiast a real thrill for a low budget. The styling has actually been downgraded to attract a more mature audience to the car, however, it still includes very sporty arch air intake grills and a large rear wing spoiler on the end for greater stability. While the car is noticeably less sporty than previous models, you will find a nice refined touch to it and overall the car doesn’t look bad, it just looks a little different than most Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution enthusiasts are used to.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 Turbo Tech Specs
One of the reasons that this vehicle gets lots of praise is its shear power. The Lancer Evolution 10 turbo includes a 2 liter 4 cylinder turbo engine that puts out a very impressive 291 horsepower. Matched up with this power is a very nice 5 speed manual transmission or a 6 speed automatic that performs quite well. In fact, even if you enjoy manual shifting, you will find that the computer shifted transmission is extremely efficient and down right wonderful.

Nicely Done Interior
Besides great power and decent styling, the interior has been revamped for the better. We definitely noticed finer materials, a new dash layout and wonderful Recoil sports seats to keep pinned in your seat while putting this vehicle through its motions. All in all, this car is a winner.

For car tuning enthusiasts looking to enjoy fun in the sun or the wind in your hair on the open road, one car that has made an impression for well over a decade is sure to please for 2009- the Mitsubishi Spyder GT. There is plenty that this vehicle offers and besides great looks, lots of functions and creature comforts add performance to your list. Here is why the 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT is sure to be a winner this coming year.

2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT Tech Specs
First off, the Eclipse Spyder GT gets a boost in horsepower from 260 to 265 utilizing a 3.8 liter V6 engine. Also it includes a 6 speed manual transmission, large, beefy 18 inch alloy wheels, a nice throaty dual exhaust system that has been tuned over the previous years exhaust to give it a louder, more sporty sound, HID (high intensity discharge) head lamps, active stability control and larger rear disc brakes. It should also be noted that the Eclipse Spyder GT also is available with an optional trim package that includes leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, aluminum scuff plates, aluminum pedals and an automatic climate control system making it not only sporty, but ultra comfortable.

Enjoy the Sun in the Spyder GT
Obviously, one of the biggest features of this vehicle is its automatic cloth top. This top folds out of sight into a nicely done power tounneau cover. The entire process from start to finish takes about 19 seconds to complete. For those that will be using this vehicle as a first car, the multi layer top construction is very snug and very quite and offers a nice coupe feeling. It should also be mentioned that there is a rear glass window with a defroster.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse has always been a car that has been popular with car tuning enthusiasts. For years, this car was not only sporty, good looking and offered great performance, but it was also friendly to many budgets. The 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse is no different and with a variety of updates and optional equipment, it is well worth a look.

What’s New for the 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
There are several things that are new to the Mitsubishi Eclipse including the GT trim level getting a very nice two tone front bumper treatment, the GT trim also getting a larger spoiler, more aggressive styling and a variety of upgrades to equipment including: a tuned dual exhaust which I hear is supposed to sound amazing, active stability control and for all you car tuning enthusiasts more horsepower.

2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse Tech Specs
The 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse comes in two trim levels, the budget friendly GS coupe and the GT coupe. Both the GS coupe and the GT coupe come with optional standard or automatic transmissions and front wheel drive. In addition, the GS coupe offers a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine with a peppy 162 horsepower. For those interested in the GT version, the engine is a 3.8 liter V6 with 263 horsepower. Besides plenty of power for car tuning enthusiasts available, the interior is full of plenty of nice amenities including GPS, a very decent stereo system, optional leather seats and much more.

While the 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse offers plenty for those that would like a sporty looking vehicle with plenty of power, it still fits nicely into most budgets. The GS coupe can be had for about $20K and the GT coupe is about 5K more.

Experience the pleasure of drop tops with Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder!

Mitsubishi has been one of the leaders worldwide in the automobile market. This is one of the car-manufacturing companies which enjoy superior loyal ship and exclusive clientele from all over the world.

Then it is a matter of little surprise that the new car launched by this car manufacturing giant i.e. Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS has been garnering lot of hype since it was first launched. This car is renowned for its stylish and sleek exteriors and is undisputedly one of the most elegant and attractive vehicles which can be seen running on the roads today. The car is provided with a powerful and more-than-sufficient 2.4 liter engine, chrome headlights and powerful and brilliant parabolic fog lights. The comfortable driver’s seat allows the driver to have complete control over the functioning and running of the car. The best thing about this sports car is that it is top down and easily allows an individual to speed up even in most unfavorable weathers.
