SEMA Show 2008

It’s only a couple of months to November and for hard core tuner enthusiasts and those in the car after market industry, this means the SEMA show.  SEMA stands for Specialty Equipment Market Association and it mainly caters to those in the aftermarket car industry catering to restoration specialists, OEM, specialty equipment (tuner) retailers and distributors, etc.  It is at SEMA that many after market companies make their big announcements and show off their new products for the upcoming year.  This year’s event is no different and for those planning on attending it will most definitely not disappoint.

It should be noted that SEMA is not open to the general public- it is a trade event, but with over 2 million square feet of exhibits and over 60K in attendance last year, this year’s event will be sure to please.  So while you might not be able to attend the SEMA show this year, there is plenty to look forward too as many retailers and manufacturers showcase their products.

For instance, last year was a huge success and many products that first appeared at SEMA went on to be huge successes.  Just some of the products that were big winners last year that deal with car tuning include:

  • PLX Devices Inc. – OBD Organic LED Gauge
  • Go Rhino! Products/Xtreme Racks – Step-N-Tow
  • JME Enterprises Inc. – Pro Series Mustang Suspension
  • Nitrous Express – “V” Gauge
  • Comp Performance Group – Drag Race Torque Converter

If you are in the industry and would like to attend the SEMA 2008 show, it will take place in Las Vegas, NV from November 4 to November 7.  For those of us that either can’t make it or are not officially part of the industry, not to worry, there will be plenty of news to report.
