Audi R8 Convertible
December 1st, 2008 by Justin
The Audi R8 has received plenty of accolades as being an incredible exotic car from Audi. This year alone the Audi has been seen on practically every magazine cover due to its incredibly good looks and powerful engine. Riding high off the great press the original R8 has received; Audi has decided to enhance the R8 with a convertible top. The top is a soft top and not a targa as many expected, however, it still looks great with some minor changes to the body and is a sure winner.
Under the Hood of the Audi R8 Convertible
Underneath the hood of this beautiful machine is a 4.2 liter V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower. While other exotics obviously have more horsepower, this vehicle definitely has plenty of torque and is quite fun to drive. For those that are waiting for a bigger, more hefty engine, there are plans for the R8 to include a V 10 engine that offers 500 + horsepower.
Inside the R8 Convertible
Inside the R8 convertible is plenty of comfort and convenience. However, expect a racing styled cockpit, fine leather and a dash that has a very nice layout with all the information a driver requires. The leather is done up very nice and even though the soft top hood requires room in the back for storage, there is still a small compartment to put a small bag for daytrips.
The Audi R8 convertible is expected to go into production in about March of 2009 and you will probably be able to find it in the states in the late summer time as a 2010 model. At this moment, the price for this model has not been set, but expect it to be about the same as the coupe.
